CEREMONY

The PPA Awards ceremony will be taking place online for the second year running, building on the success of the 2020 event and providing our community with a celebratory space to engage with each other and recognise the hard work achieved in the past 12 months.

The ceremony will be free to attend, simply register for a free ticket and round up your colleagues for a team get together on June 23 at 16:30.

There will be two competitions running on Twitter with the winners being decided by our celebrity hosts. So even if you haven't been shortlisted or don't win a trophy, you still have the chance to join the celebrations, get your photo up on the big screen and win a special prize .

MARCUS BRIGSTOCKE AND RACHEL PARRIS

Famous in their own rights as individual comedians, hosts and actors, Marcus & Rachel became known as a duo when they caused a Twitter storm with #LockdownLipSync during lockdown 2020. They’ve also been keeping audiences entertained from home with their live 'Tuesday Night Club' hosted online by Always be Comedy.


MARCUS BRIGSTOCKE - Marcus began his comedy career at Bristol University, studying drama and won the BBC New Comedian of the Year in 1996. He has since emerged as a major comedy, writing and acting talent, regularly appearing live and on TV, film and radio.

The Edinburgh festival has delivered a great deal of critical acclaim for Marcus and his TV appearances include Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, The AZ of Music, News-Knight with Sir Trevor McDonald, QI, Would I Lie to You?, Question Time, Marcus Brigstocke's Trophy People, Saturday Night Live ... Again, and Argumental.

In 2007 and 2008 Marcus travelled to the Arctic to see for himself the effects of climate change, working with a team of scientists to discover the pace of change and discuss the impacts of global warming and how to lessen them.

A master of satirical comedy, Marcus covers a wide range of topics including; Climate Change, Religious Extremism, Immigration, Loans Companies, The Special Relationship, Compensation Culture, Women's Magazines, The EU and David Blaine, not to mention his own personal battle against his middle class roots.


RACHEL PARRIS - Rachel Parris is an award-winning musical comedian, actor and improviser. She is a regular on BBC 2's The Mash Report, and has also appeared on Live at the Apollo, QI, Would I Lie to You and Mock the Week among others.

She has made several appearances on BBC Radio 4 and BBC 6 Music, and on TV, she appeared in the highly anticipated IT Crowd Special on Channel 4, which was nominated in the Bafta Awards.

Rachel is married to funnyman Marcus Brigstocke.
